Thanks for this thread Richard.  I read it and instantly was transported back over the 42 years of my existence on this planet.  Growing up as a missionary kid in the back of station wagons, vans, cars, etc I had traversed nearly half of the USA before I was 10 years old and most of the rest of it by 15.  When people would ask me, “Where is your favorite place?” I had one simple answer, “HOME!”.  Which brings me to your thread—in an ever changing world  I love constants.  One of those was our small town (3500 people) annual nativity scene.  Apparently when I was about 3, I was so captivated by it that I would declare “Love beaming Eyes!” Every time that we would drive by it.  Not sure what I meant by that at the time, but as the years have gone by and I have experienced the “Love of God through His Son” in my heart, I know what it means to me today!

So Richard, on the way home from our Candlelight Christmas Eve service last night, I saw the nativity and pulled over to have Kelli snap a picture.  I can only imagine what the police officer was thinking who was sitting in his squad some 50’ away!

Notice one thing that is missing—the most important Thing—baby Jesus!   He is placed in at Midnight and will be there today!  I’ll have to update pic tomorrow.  I’m so thankful that our small town hasn’t succumbed to Politically Correct pressure of this “so easily offended” society and continues to display this precious scene year after year.  The wonder of Christmas returns to this “boy” every time I drive by that nativity scene, one I have seen every year since I was two months old!

Thank you God for the greatest Gift ever given celebrated annually on Dec 25th all around the world!
