CCW 1,292 #27 Posted January 1, 2020 Couple of photos from where my son lives and works. Big change from his last post in Oklahoma. These shots are about a half hour drive from his base.

CCW 1,292 #29 Posted January 1, 2020 This is Ehrenberg Castle located in Reutte in Tyrol, Austria. Below is a shot of the info plaque at the caste.
CCW 1,292 #30 Posted January 1, 2020 The photo of the valley is from the castle. There is also the longest pedestrian bridge in the world. The photo is mine, but this info is from Wikipedia. No we did not walk across. Wife is not a fan of heights. In 2014, the world’s longest pedestrian suspension bridge was completed between the Ehrenberg Castle ruins and Fort Claudia, spanning the strategically important pass that these two structures were in part meant to guard. The length of the bridge is 1,322 feet (403 meters), with a height of 360 feet (110 meters).

We drove under it in September 2019, but didn’t walk it that time. Awesome place!
CCW 1,292 #32 Posted January 1, 2020 Is that you on top of Zugspitz? Garmish is where my son stationed. This photo is from our hotel room on his base. Zugspits is the tall peak on the right and is the largest mountain in Germany. He skis on the slope to the left where the Olympics and World Championships have been held.
Pullstart 62,795 #33 Posted January 1, 2020 Yep, we’ve been to the Zugspitze twice now. Such a cool place! When we were there last, I couldn’t believe how many sky divers / base jumpers were sailing down from the mountains into the village!
