Andy N. 2,136 #1 Posted December 18, 2019 So my wife works as a A&P mechanic for American Airlines at ORD (Chicago O'Hare) and we love to travel....especially on her travel benefits. This years adventure was to Cambodia. We started in Phnom Penh, then went up to the Mondulkiri area to visit an elephant sanctuary, and then our final stop was Ankgor Wat. Attached are a few of many pics to highlight the trip..... I saw a lot of tractors along the way, but most of them were bigger than our WH types and most were the almighty orange Kubota's. 8 4

Pullstart 62,795 #6 Posted December 18, 2019 I’ve heard of swimming with dolphins, but not with elephants! Awesome trip, how was the first class flight overseas? We dream of the day we can upgrade, but twice the cost for the average Joe is so hard to justify!

peter lena 8,582 #8 Posted December 18, 2019 thank you for the pictures ! always felt that travel not only fills the want to see it mentality , but also puts the reality of just how insignificant you really are, the vastness of your travels reminds you of the speck of sand you really are, your memories last forever , pete

We fly non rev standby and pay very little for those seats. Downside is, if there aren't any available seats on the flight, then we're not getting on. It's made for some interesting travels and you have to be very flexible with your schedule. 3 hours ago, The Tool Crib said: That tree is really fascinating ! Thanx for sharing ! This temple with the trees was featured in the Lara Croft Tomb Raider movie from 2001. It was mostly undisturbed for 800 - 1,000 years prior to that. There are some renovations that are currently being done. 2

We shot a K57/PKM belt fed machine gun. The ranges there have everything from an M16 to an RPG. Prices vary from $1.50/round for M16 and AK47 to $500 per RPG round. It's a total tourist trap, but a lot of fun if you're into that kind of stuff. We shot AK47's during our trip to Vietnam 4 years ago so I felt this time we should step it up.

Which is how we met 15 years ago. I just work on the corporate side of the industry now while she stayed on the commercial side. 1

8ntruck 6,991 #15 Posted December 19, 2019 Nice pictures. Looks like it was a good trip. We've enjoyed the travel that we've been able to do over the years. Mission trips to Central America, South America, Check Republic, business trips to Europe, Scandinavia, Mexico, and South America. We've never been to the Far East, though. What I've learned is that people are pretty much the same the world over. Learning about the cultural differences is the interesting and valuable part of the experience.
