Recommended Posts

I know and read about the oil bath air cleaners out there but can not find the one I have. I'd like to see what your thoughts about it. It came on a 1959 rj59 kholer k90 tractor. I've seen post to use the stainless mess cleaning ball and a 40 wt oil but where does the mess go in and how much oil? I only see the flater styled ones is this one not very common any help would be thanks

Normally there is a mark or indent for the oil to go up to.  I see about halfway up that outward embossed or welded line.  How deep is that actually?

My understanding of these types of filters is if theres an oil line you dont have mesh inside if there isnt then you had mesh

Never seen an oil bath air cleaner that did not have mesh. The mesh gives the oil a medium to flow back into the base after the air picks up the droplets. A stainless steel mesh scouring pad or two should fix you up and be better than the original.

Having the wife pick me up a pack of 3 stainless mess cleaning pads by 3m. What weight oil is recommended for oil filters? When I use the mesh should I coat it in oil first before placing in side the air inlet tube
