DDK319 2 #1 Posted December 15, 2019 Hi All, I have a 414-8 with a 0642ST05 snow thrower. Unfortunately, I had the bearings on the chain side of the auger explode (items #16 and 17in the attached photo). Needless to say that side comes right apart. Remove the 3 nuts, pop the plate off and bob's your uncle. The other side, however, does not want to come apart. Anyone have any tips or tricks before I break something hauling on this thing? Thanks, Dan
AHS 1,440 #2 Posted December 15, 2019 On the auger or on the sprocket shaft? I rebuilt one of these, so I’m kinda a pro.
AHS 1,440 #3 Posted December 15, 2019 On the auger there’s two washer on either side and then it’s the bearings. On the sprocket/belt shaft there two collared bearings. Just be sure to remove the set screws on the bearings! An Allen screw on the collared bearing. And on the belt pulley there are 4 Allen screws (one on the surface and 1 beneath it!) or just two square set screws.
