Alex175 784 #1 Posted December 10, 2019 Yesterday I had a new garage door installed, something I have needed for a while considering all of the gaps it had making it nearly impossible to work in there in the winter. I spent all Sunday cleaning the garage so that the installer could move around easily, and when I was done, parked all my tractors inside nice and neat. After getting to work today, a coworker (who I convinced to buy a Wheel Horse last year) asked to see pictures of the new garage door, and of course I had to show him the army parked in there all nice and neat. I have nicknames for each tractor (they earn their names based off what their first major repair is) and so he asked me if the collective group had a nickname as well. Finally during lunch today it hit me...."The Red Sea". 3 8

It hasn't always been this clean. It got a lot better a few weeks ago when I put up one of the 12x20 tent garages to store all my attachments, trailers, spare parts, etc in! My grandparents old 1980 C-175. When my grandmother passed I inherited the tractor and that's what started it for me. Then I needed the C-145 so that in the winter I could have one with the plow, one with the snowblower, then the Super C was the next natural choice........I have a problem.....and I am not ashamed I've seen a few people posting with a Black Hood Club emblem in their signature, but haven't found how to join yet, if anyone knows I'd love to join the ranks. 2

I bought it from the son of the original owner. The story I got is that it was their everyday tractor for years, the motor blew and they order a replacement from Northern Tool. The only problem is they butchered the hood to fit the gas tank for the new motor. A friend found me a new hood for it though, so I am planning on doing a full rebuild on it this winter I think and get it looking pretty. The son did a minor resto on it a few years ago, and it's an ok job but it looks good from afar and far from good. 1

Then go to your profile and insert it in the signature line. Any one is welcome to use the club badges. It's not really a formal club just some clowns who favor the B'hoods ...or 953s ...or 520s or round hoods... Here's a dandy I just may have to use! Coincidence...The HH70 we put on my L107 while father still had it (needed to get ACR for him) also came from Northern. Been a heck of a good powerplant put it on in late 80s still going strong and she is in constant use as my chore tractor. (I added electric start ...I am lazier than my father was..) The tractor also originally had electric start (655 was electric, 605 was pull) so I have all of the wiring, just need a starter. I have also been on the lookout for an original H60 motor if I want to have it more original.
