The Tuul Crib 7,336 #1 Posted December 9, 2019 So I'm dealing with a seller that sold me a gasket set for a K3 41. When I get it all the gaskets are correct so I start putting the motor back together and decide to put the crank seals in later after the engine is together. When I get to that point I realize that the first seal on the PTO side just dropped right in no resistance when I looked at the other seal for the fly will side it is the same size crank seal . I am fighting eBay and being ignored by the seller on this issue. they sent me a prepaid return label but I cannot explain to these people I cannot return the product because it already installed in the motor. That said, I'm sure the person working for eBay is a 20-something millennial that has never as much as put their hand on an engine. 953 nut 55,081 #3 Posted December 9, 2019 In many cases the seller is not the manufacturer and is under the assumption that the kit is complete. Was this a new after-market set of gaskets or a NOS Kohler set from a closed down repair shop? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
JoeM 7,871 #4 Posted December 9, 2019 At one time i used to react to issues the same way. I have found that sometimes the stress is just not worth it. For as little the cost, buy a couple seals and move on. E bay is a good source for some items but is full of re-sales. The kind of sales where people sell a thousand items a day and make a buck on each re-channeling the sale though the bay. That is why some E bay purchases come in Home Depot boxes, Amazon boxes etc. If it is a must for you, send those seals back in the PP envelope. EBay is to risky and trying to make contact with the seller when things are incorrect is a pain in the @$$ I fund a vender for all my Kohler (small engine) needs. I buy all of my carbs, gasket sets, etc from "I Save Tractors" He's a phone call away if you have a problem, need installation help or need to return a carb. Yes I get it you can buy a carburetor on EBay for $16.00 but I don't here a lot of success stories. I do like EBay for old one of a kind items, some thing vintage. Tires even. WHX?? 48,782 #6 Posted December 9, 2019 I suppose you already gave them a positive review Cribs. If not stick it to them with a bad one. Sellers on fleabay hate that...well the good sellers anyway. When most people read the feedbacks they only real the bad ones that's why. I never give feed back till I use the product. I guess you did kinda. Like Dick said most of these kits are prepackaged and the seller is just moving them so the seller has no clue as to what's right or wrong in the package. Someone doing the package might be putting the wrong piece in the package. Still the buyer should/can gripe to the seller and seller should make it right. Then the seller should let the packager know hey your screwing up so nobody else gets the wrong seal. Sadly doesn't happen that way most times. These were no doubt an aftermarket product and as said above the seller has no idea what they fit or if anything is incorrect and what they're selling . I have not given a review yet so the way I look at it anything goes at this point. Sure I'm out a little bit of money but that's not the point here. If you're going to sell a product you need to know a little more about it before you just throw it up on eBay. tom2p 2,394 #8 Posted December 11, 2019 (edited) we buy a lot on eBay almost every part I've recently installed on our Wheel Horse tractors was purchased on eBay new and used parts - including : all filters - oil, trans, air, and fuel plugs all belts - drive, PTO-to-mower, mower deck bearings, pulleys mower deck parts - blades, wheels, tensioner bushings, lift rods cables, electrical switches tubes also got couple of small parts from Parts Tree and tires from Wal Mart online I prefer to support local business when I can - but Wheel Horse dealer far from convenient ; dealer is almost one hour away - and has no evening hours and open on Saturdays until noon only On a typical Saturday, customer could be #3 or 4 in line for parts - while someone looks up and then searches for parts - then fortunate if they have the part because of this - have not been to a dealer in a long time - approx 15 years ? eBay has allowed me to keep and maintain our Wheel Horse tractors - and with a minimum of hassle Edited December 11, 2019 by tom2p 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

After you get those parts march down to a good divorce lawyer cause you are gonna need it after she finds out what you spent. After you hit rock bottom with yer habit let us know and we'll come help you out... Seriously I hear what yer sayin. While I do work these tractors for upkeep on the ranch like many others here many tractors are still just a hobby for relaxation and fun on the show circuit. I have been a seller/buyer on eBay since 1995 and never left a negative feedback, nor received one. The reason is that I work with my buyers. In the case of a kit that includes many individual parts, it is imperative that you as the buyer know what you are buying, and that you check to make sure that all parts are there and are right for the job before you start using any of them. eBay did you right by sending a label for return. If the seller is ignoring the problem, then file a claim against him. Explain your situation in the claim. If he fails to respond to you or eBay, you will probably get a favorable decision from eBay and get your money back. In the meantime, buy a seal to finish the job. They are not expensive. This is just my 2 cents worth and not meant to disparage either you or the seller. I just get tired hearing people bash eBay when it's not their fault. Aprilaire 413 filter (fairly common / standard filter I assume ?) ( replaced electronic air cleaner we had that was sorta/kinda PITA to clean ) Could not find 413 filter local - no go at Home Depot or Lowes. They produce ozone ...a known lung irritant. i believe the old electronic air cleaner was an Emerson (?) all metal thin blades arranged horizontally thin wires arranged vertically would often make a ticking or zapping sound when fan would kick on ... I assume when dust particles or whatever were passing through ... ? often would be white dust or residue - maybe from the zapped dust or whatever ... ?
