Haban sickle bar winter project

Recommended Posts

moe1965

I bought this sickle bar early spring and now it's time to mount it to my c141.  It was mounted to a Jacobson lawn chief when I purchased it so my job is to make it fit my tractor.  I have some ideas any one have one attached to a wheel horse that can send me some pix that might help me figure out how to mount it.  Thanks. I do have the 90 degree 2 to 1 gear ratio gear box

Mine is an original WH build, not a Haban. Those came later and were much better machines.
I'll get some photos tomorrow, but I have this.

The Jake Chief is a very similar design to the WH, just mirrored. The WH original sickle is very different and mine isn't of much help.

Thanks for pix and manual.   I'll keep you all posted.  I put a Sears sickl bar on a 854 last winter. I think this will be a little less involved but I'm up for the challange.

Got it mounted under the tractor today .  Made a bracket for it using what was on the tractor.  Nitpicking a few things and now on to the drive.

Nitpicking a little moe then expected.   I was reading the owners manual I got with it and found out it has a trip releas incase you hit something.    It was all frozen up so I am in the process of freeing  it up

Had a friend bend up a piece of thin stock just for a template to try and figure out how to mount the 90 degree gear box.
