Adjusting chain 32" snowblower

Tom kite

How to adjust chain on a old wheelhorse 32 single stage snowblower. I look all over couldn't  fine anything.

On one of the idler sprockets, you should see a slot, that's the one you use for tightening the chain.

At least that's where it was on the ss blower I had.

End opposite of the belt pulley, bottom front sprocket. Not a lot of adjustment available, but that's the one. I have a 32 inch and gave it and my K181 in my commando 800 a work out yesterday hi hi.

My chain was stretched out and I had no more adjustment available.   I installed a half link and back up and running.  Removing one full link was to much.  Just incase you run into the same issue.

ever used lubricant on that auger drive set up ? the wear and play on these is easy to correct and replace. you can look up those chain gears and #40 chain , probably pick them up at a tractor supply . that auger should easily spin by hand when properly set up , making its use a treat. i would also add a SERATED LOCK WASHER on that adjustment  slot bolt, to secure its setting . pete
