76c12091520h 3,608 #1 Posted November 30, 2019 Need a little assistance (again!) identifying these spindle assemblies. They appear to share the same dimensions as the 100675 spindle assembly but are made different; They have the roller bearing on the pulley end of the shaft and needle bearings on the blade end. There is a single hole in the housing with a rivet in it, but the hole is not threaded for a grease fitting. I have been thru the spindle id charts and can't find any that match these dimensions .The shaft measures 4 1/8" and has a snap ring on the inside of the housing under the bearing. I'm pretty sure I have it narrowed down but a second opinion doesn't hurt. Part# or application? (72 and prior 42" and 48" maybe?) Thanks.
daveoman1966 3,745 #2 Posted November 30, 2019 (edited) That spindle assy is for a 36" deck...not for 42 or 48. Startr your search with decks made after 1975 or so... although I've never seen one quite like this, it is nonetheless for a 36" deck. '85... typo s/b 75 or so. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #4 Posted November 30, 2019 1977 was the last year for 42" and 48" decks using the double-D. Mid-year change so also first year for 3/4" hole in blades. 1979 was the last year for 36" decks using the double-D. Mid-year change so also first year for 3/4" hole in blades.
