Patience sometimes can be hard to achieve. I've been there. I'll be there again I'm sure. In the trucking and machine operation field I've said to quite a good many people over the years... If you have to process the thought about whether or not you should do something... you probably should not do that thing. Just like anything else, supply and demand dictates the pricing of any given thing. None of us are in the area that you are and thus, we don't know the supply or demand. The correct price for an item is the one that makes the buyer and the seller comfortable and happy. Although I do realize full well that a 953 is a whole different level of tractor, I just really would not be anywhere near comfortable paying more than $300 to $400 for a Wheelhorse that does not run or drive and you can't test the condition of the hydraulic system.
MichaelCanada 14 #27 Posted December 11, 2019 Ok Guys so I took the plunge and picked up the 953 tractor. I'm sure I will be looking to the boys for advice and I'm sure a few parts. I took off the mower deck and a front bracket that the previous owner had installed. I think it looks great in my humble opinion. (rear tires are BF Goodrich Silvertown) I haven't had time to get into the engine but my plan is to flush the gas tank and instal an inline fuel filter clean the carb put in a new plug and pray lol. New front rubber as well. Thanks again for all the feedback 2
Pullstart 62,600 #28 Posted December 11, 2019 Congrats on the score! Here’s to hoping the plan works out!
Herder 2,354 #29 Posted December 11, 2019 Congrats, she's in good shape. Don't be quick to toss out the front tires. If they are not dry rotted they could be a good resale item. For the rears one of the closer sizes you will find in an ag is 7.60-15, they fit well. The 6.40-15 are discontinued. Looking forward to seeing the restore. MichaelCanada 14 #30 Posted December 11, 2019 Thanks for the sizing advice for the backs. I was unable to find ags in that size and was wondering if another size would fit. iI someone was really set on getting original front tires I'd be open to selling them. Pullstart 62,600 #32 Posted December 12, 2019 @PeacemakerJack it seems you mentioned a popular size in the farm industry... is that the 7.6-15 or something else?

I got that size from peacemakers Dad's 953, Clyde.

ME miller tire sells those in the implement section of their Catalog/site. They have several 15” sized AG tires with different widths. We preferred the fatter ones for Clyde and they look and work GREAT in my opinion. As Eric stated they are 7.60-15 no complaints with traction either!!!
