I went to Mass to pick it up.  There is never really anything good in VT for wheel horse.

Save that horse! I LOVE my 418-C.  I did a bit of a purge of my WH collection recently to make room for more toys, but in way was my 418-C going away! She does look a little beat, but it is well worth putting a little money into to get into working condition.  As always, if you are looking to sell, i am semi-local to central CT, and wouldnt mind owning another 418

They are geared to same as the 520 the only difference is in the Speed control leaver. they are different. I think that the 418 leaver may pull farther forward. I look at the drawing and the other parts seam to the the same.

I'm gonna try to save it.  Hoping that fixing that hard line on the trans fixes that issue. I'll pull the rear end and see what happens from there.

I hope that is a simple an explanation as that.  If so, I can figure out a way to get the extra 1.5 mph back.  It probably sounds crazy, but that extra speed would make plowing/pushing snow a lot easier.
