ebinmaine 70,792 #1 Posted November 11, 2019 The wires are threaded on to the cap. The cap is correct but the wires are standard type push on literally just sitting on the cap. I have a new cap to install. I need wires ... I have a bunch of wire and could also just remake the existing ones if I could get new ends. Is there availability to the wire ends only? Or do I need to buy a whole complete correct set? ($$$)
Achto 28,799 #2 Posted November 11, 2019 Does the new cap have the thread on terms in the cap? If so and providing that your wires are copper core & not graphite core. Cut the ends off of the wires and thread them into the cap. if your wires are graphite core then you should replace them with copper core.
pfrederi 18,335 #3 Posted November 11, 2019 Eric; If you haven't checked out this site I find it very useful for my big tractors. https://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/viewforum.php?f=20 https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/Ferguson-TO20_Spark-Plug-Wire-Set-Custom_S42779.html
squonk 42,579 #4 Posted November 11, 2019 Good old Continental Engines. Complete nightmare to get parts for. It was 20 years ago anyway. Hopefully the internets have made it somewhat easier.

I'll take pictures later but there's basically a small copper washer with a slit in it that apparently the wire slides into? @pfrederi I've seen a couple things on that site. I absolutely will check that out again. Thank you. @squonk Definitely easier to locate things now. Yes. Although I did find out this morning and I have not corrected this thread yet but it MAY be a Standard brand engine. The distributor is definitely a Lucas. First off get a new distributor let the Prince of Darkness reign elsewhere
1995 520H+96+97 937 #8 Posted November 11, 2019 You may have a TE engine. TO came with Delco distributor. Pertronix ignition would be nice, no maintance. https://www.stevenstractor.com/home/tailored-spark-plug-wire-set.html
