ebinmaine 67,277 #2 Posted November 7, 2019 You folks have the cold air that we are going to have on Saturday. October has been a bit warm for us but we have seen a few frosty mornings. Beginning this fall we've been using wood as our primary heat so we've had the stoves going off and on for well over a month. With the addition of the stove we installed upstairs it makes for a toasty and warm house.

adsm08 2,022 #7 Posted November 8, 2019 I am into what I consider my official "burning season". I try not to fire the wood stoves before Nov 1, and to have them shut down and cleaned out for the year by April 1.
WHX?? 48,782 #8 Posted November 8, 2019 We've already had 6 in of snow here and single digits for tonite. Global warming? Unreal for this time of year but not a dang thing can do about it so just get ready for more to come is all a guy can do. Tried blowing snow last nite but the single plugged up twice... was more like pumping slush so just shut her down. Looks like the rest of our nation is not faring any better. Just for grins Jeff @WVHillbilly520H gonna grow one like that and trim accordingly just to get a rise out of the missus... I like it! 3 1

squonk 41,028 #15 Posted November 11, 2019 (edited) Nat. Gas stove vacuumed out and at the ready. Blew the dust out of the propane heater in the garage. Finally replaced the batteries in the inside thermostat and set the clock. Moved the garage thermostat lever back and forth to make sure I remembered how it worked. Looking thru the Duluth Trading catalog with a coonhound on my lap. Yes I'm ready. Edited November 11, 2019 by squonk
