wallfish 16,982 #5 Posted November 3, 2019 Look at Mike the chopper go! Looks good. If you don't have a plan for the raw edge, it can be covered with automotive door edge guard 4
Sparky-(Admin) 21,300 #6 Posted November 3, 2019 Still needs fine tuning, remove sharp edges, clean up the overall install and what-not. But it’s back together and I buzzed around the yard a few times. It’s actually a bit more comfy for me now. I’m 6’1” and this mod gave me a bit more leg room 7 9

squonk 41,020 #15 Posted November 4, 2019 Those seats are comfy. Never cared for the " slap the seat on the fender pan" style. 1

What about the sheet of steel that was bolted to the trans? Did you just sandwich it in place?

I left it since it has the “tube” for the rear lift cable. My round fenders toolbox didn’t have any provisions for it so I spaced the toolbox up 1/4” to cover the lift cable passage 5

I do have the pieces still. But when I cut the drive belt guard side I cut just above the mounting tabs for the belt guard. So I simply bolted it back on. No welder or welding skills here

That raw edge looks dangerous. it would be worth it to do both sides as 953 nut said. 1

I’m still unsure what I’ll do about the cut edges. Seriously considered installing a few strips of something like these.
wallfish 16,982 #25 Posted November 5, 2019 If you don't like the look of covering the edges, you could hand file them fairly quickly to half round. Once they rust a little it will blend right in.
