Threatened with a four letter word!

As beautiful as it is here today...I hear the possibility of s_ _ w is in the forcast for later on this week.

 

Gonna set up this old 1075 hydro today to tackle some of the pushing chores here this winter.

 

What are you using to handle the snow removal chore this winter season?

Nice looking setup! No chains? Or do you put them on right before they're needed?

Sure, if necessary, always have the chains at the ready...

The 5" that I got the other day was pretty much gone the next day and is gone now.

   Well' sorry folks' I'm a fuddy duddy on snow days. My driveway being all gravel and 150 yards to the rd I found it much quicker to fill my Tundra's bed to the top with snow while its warming up and simply roll right on through it...lol  Even the 2ft we had a few yrs back was a breeze. 

No fun in this I know but' no time for that here anyway. Maybe someday I will and I'll buy a blower and join ya' all then?

I hate to ask stupid questions but here goes. What is the difference when using front wheel weights when plowing snow in addition to having just rear wheel weights and chains. Many years back I plowed with the 312-8 and the 520-H and both did extremely well, this was on a flat hot top driveway roughly 150' long x 20' wide. Thanks

Front weights help allow you to steer when the blade is angled.  With out front weights/chains front end will slide sideways plowing with the blade angled

@JCM Jim if I try to plow without my loaded front oversized tires here in my hilly yard I get pretty much nowhere if the plow is down.

 

I'll be using the Cinnamon Horse again this year for snow plowing duties after Trina and I both use the walk-behind snow blowers to clear most of the white stuff.

I just put the chains on the rear wheels this morning, so this 877 is ready

And the 16 auto is ready if needed.

Got the wheel weights and rear axle mount installed today...was denied getting the plow mounted up though. Seems this mid sixties plow frame is a bit too short to enable the plow to pivot left and right without hitting the front wheels. Wondering if that has something to do with this being a hydro tractor? Pump mounted forward of the rear diff? Seems the plow frame is about 6-8" too short in length...about the same amount of space that pump takes up.
