squonk 41,028 #1 Posted October 30, 2019 As some members know, I've had this big honkin piece of concrete from a basketball hoop by the side of the road waiting for the village to pick up.. We have clean up days in the fall. I don't keep much junk around but we replaced our memory foam mattress this summer. I cut up the old one in cubes to get rid of it when my dumpster isn't full. (Believe it or not a electric knife works great for this ) I have 4 cubes left so I put them around the concrete in a pile along with an old reading pillow. I leave for work at 5:15 AM and find the foam cubes strewn all over the yard and the concrete about 15 ft from where it was. No time to investigate. I come home early today and get looking. Some mohambie must have thought the foam was a Nascar safe barrier. There is a tire mark where the concrete was. A tire mark on a piece of foam along with a broken chunk of concrete. I figure a drunk driver or kids piled into it. What's weird is my wife and I didn't hear a thing and neither did my dogs. I had to get Elvis out to get the boulder back to the road. You can see how far it got moved by the pics I figured I would get somebody with this boulder. I would think if it was just an accident, the Police would have been there. 7 1 7

It stems from a Latin origination and means Dumb butt who hits concrete. 1

ZXT 2,401 #9 Posted October 30, 2019 (edited) Hey Mike, don't you think pieces of that memory foam mattress would make good tractor seat foam? I would think there would be some sort of carnage left at the scene (a bumper cover, broken pieces of plastic, etc). Seems like maybe that was done purposely! One would also be inclined to think that the concrete sliding would've messed up your grass badly! How much do you estimate that concrete weighs? I'm sure it left a nice mark! Lol! I do like your tractor and FEL. What is the tractor? An Economy? Edited October 30, 2019 by ZXT

formariz 11,987 #12 Posted October 31, 2019 (edited) Many years ago before I had horses to help with the work around here, I used to blow and move all the leaves to the curb for pick up. It was literally a mountain of leaves up to 6 feet high and over 30 feet in length. This was a several times event each year. Well high school kids though it was hilarious driving into and on the pile scattering leaves for hundreds of feet. Very frustrating. I could hear the screaming with joy in the car as they did it while I was inside house. I got so tired of it that one day I made a wall of piled up cement blocks with the the leaves on top of it. Sure enough here they come after school for their usual joy ride. Well the usual euphoric screaming, a real big bang , screeching tires, and all of a sudden a bunch of kids in a panic around the front of the car that needless to say was not pretty. Later found out it was the parents car too. So I casually go up there non nonchalantly and ask them if I could be of any assistance. It was really hard to keep a straight face looking at their expressions looking at me. Not a word from any of them, they got back into the car and drove away nice and slow. As I am assessing the damage to my blocks I see them coming back on the other side of the road. I waved goodbye with a big smile. Very stoic faces in the car looking straight ahead and not even acknowledging me. That was the end of the leaves joy ride forever. There were 2 broken pieces of concrete laying about and some small chunks in the grass along some marks in the grass. I estimate the concrete weighs around 300 lbs.
