bc.gold 3,403 #1 Posted October 26, 2019 (edited) This happened a few hours before I happened onto this accident, sad part it looks like the cow is with calf. I'm curious why the air bag didn't fire of on impact, was there a malfunction recall this owner neglected to respond to. If the driver received serious injury because the safety device failed - so many questions. Heads up to those who own this or similar vehicle, your air bag may nor function as designed. The announced recall covers most Jeep Wranglers built between 2010 through 2016, as well as 2010 Dodge Ram 3500/4500/5500 trucks, and some Dodge and Chrysler passenger cars. It is part of the largest series of automotive recalls in U.S. history, with nearly 10 million inflators being recalled this year. wh500special 2,160 #3 Posted October 26, 2019 (edited) Very unfortunate. airbags are triggered by an inertial switch. Only if the impact is severe enough to decelerate the vehicle at a certain rate will the airbag fire. it saves secondary injury to driver and passenger if the impact was like that shown. Interestingly there is a an automotive moose crash test. They suspend a moose dummy at windshield height and run the car into it to gage occupant survivability. steve Edited October 26, 2019 by wh500special
