Has Anyone Used Greyhound Bus Shipping?

Recommended Posts

My son had some large heavy packages shipped to him via Greyhound bus.

I went to there site, they call the service "Busfreighter". It looks like you can ship up to a 100 lb package,

So I played with the quote feature and used 100 lb from

Austin, Texas to Richmond, North Carolina and Austin Texas to York Pa,

Station to station both came up with a cost of  $90 to $100 depending on dimensions.

They also offer a door to door at additional cost.

Package Size (Max 29"x47"x82")

While you can't ship a tractor, it looks like a viable way to ship an engine, transmission, maybe a mower deck, or bulky sheet metal,

So does anyone have any experience with them?

I'm curious of peoples' experience with them as well.. Might be a good way for me to find a mower deck!

A K series is over 100lb I believe.

Small block is 80 or 85.

Big block is 120 to 130.

I only knew that a big block was 100+ lbs because of you weighing yours! Completely forgot about small blocks.

I'm thinking a big block "short block" without flywheel, etc should just fall under 100 lbs.

@ZXT What mower deck are you looking for. I have a couple 42"and 48" that fit C series and 300,400,500 series.  They are fairly solid, but need going through.

Just any deck really. I have 3 tractors but only one deck; i'd like to have decks on at least two of them.
