Pretty little hike pictures

This past Saturday Trina and I took a 3 mile stroll on Dunn's loop in Andover Maine.

The trailhead is the Appalachian Trail parking lot on East B Hill Rd.

Eric the AT is close to you? It’s kinda in my backyard. Lol.Some pics from 2 weeks ago. I take my dog Boomer for early morning walks on this stretch before the crowds show up.

We've been on many stretches of it over the last few years.

 

It crosses a ton of mountains here in New England.

It runs thru the woods behind our house. It used to run down the road past my bus stop. Lol

Maybe one day I’ll start walking north and not stop. I’ll give you a call when I get into Maine! 😂

That’s the only reason Boomer and I turn around and go back home.We never bring enough snacks! 😂😂

As a BSA leader some 35+ years ago, I backpacked around 200 mile of the AT with my two sons  scout troop.

We usually took 3 day trips trying to do ~ 50 mile.   We covered around 50 mile in Northern Va., all 40 mile across Md. and about 100 mile in Pa.

A lot of Civil War history along the Md section.   And a lot of rattlesnakes loved to get under a warm tent in Pa.

I have a guy at work that goes trail hiking every vacation and he started in Georgia and has been working his way up north. His daughter has actually almost completed the Appalachian trail, if I heard him correctly. Such beautiful scenery.

We've hiked Mt Greylock.

Went up the old Alpine ski course WOWOWOWOW was that a steep hike.

Just enough grade where you couldn't quite use your hands but we were tilted forward and sure stretched our calf muscles that day!!!

Yeah. Air roots. 

 

We see that ALOT here in New England.

Our terrain is so filled with rocks the trees have no options.

Thanks for sharing, Eric. Beautiful scenery up there! My wife and I did a little hiking in Clifty Falls state park in S. E. Indiana last week. Pretty country along that part of the Ohio river.
