314-8 snowblower lift

Recommended Posts

I wondered if anyone else has this problem ? I just put a snow thrower on my 314 and it will not lift over 4" . I used the top hole the arm and i used washers on the lift arm. I can't see anything else I could do to correct it. I have a gravel driveway and I'm worried it may drag in the dirt.

The bottom hole should give more lift, but will require more force to lift it.

Skid shoes will solve that problem

Add washers at the lift flag and pipe.

Each 1/8" thick 3/4" SAE flat washer will add about 1/2" to the lift height.

Thanks all for the reply's . I did all of your suggestions and get just three to three and one half inch.. On the bottom hole I get no lift at all. I guess I'll have to live with what I got.

Did you turn the height lift adjustment knob near gear selector?

No I did not , but I just went out and tried it and it seemed to help at least it stops all the weight from dragging on the ground. Thank You

Do what Ed and Gary said and add a helper spring to lift it.  I sold all my WH equipment 18 months ago but as I recall, I had close to 6 inches of lift
