oldiron613 583 #1 Posted October 17, 2019 Im excited to have just aquired this early RJ58, serial #1099. It's a little rough around the edges but has some neat early characteristics such as the RJ35 style front wheels, slab hitch and leather shifter boot. Ive never seen this style of big, round rear hubs before. I assume these were used on the earliest RJ58's? I ask because my other early RJ #1789 has the more conventional, triangular looking 3-bolt hubs. Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the earliest known RJ58 serial number is currently? Thanks, Rob 3
Pullstart 63,122 #2 Posted October 17, 2019 What’s that gauge on the transmission? That thing’s awesome! There’s a plow day this weekend to try that hitch...
oldiron613 583 #3 Posted October 17, 2019 I've heard....and wish I could make it! That gauge makes me smile. It serves no purpose other than a plug; apparently a previous owner lost the plug, but had this gauge laying around with the same pipe thread. 3
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,113 #4 Posted October 17, 2019 Whenever I see a serial number I add to the list. 1099 was already on it. Click on the picture. Garry
oldiron613 583 #5 Posted October 17, 2019 Ah, thanks Garry! Great list! I have a couple more to add that I can send you. It looks like this one is the 3rd earliest RJ58 on the list. Does anyone by chance know where, or have pictures of the earlier two; #5 or #251? Thanks, Rob
wallfish 17,094 #6 Posted October 17, 2019 The early 58s did come with those round hubs. I still have my first one and sold another to AMCrules a while back. Unfortunately, neither had an ID decal. Clay, RJ35hunter might have a good idea of when they changed to the 3 ear style hubs.

Yeah that's fake news...mine had it's original decal...just couldn't read it until it wes removed from the frame and turned over. It's #1188. which is #5 on the list. 2

Thanks for maintaining a WH registry; I love it and it's appreciated! Rob
wh500special 2,240 #16 Posted October 25, 2019 “Haeffnkr” (Kevin) is from whom I bought the tractor several years ago. He picked it up in Brighton, IL. incidentally, Kevin worked for an investment house HQ in downtown St. Louis. That firm (now Edward Jones) used a handful of Wheel Horses to clear snow and do general property maintenance on their campus. All of the tractors had cabs and blades on them. And were always kept in nice condition. wonder what happened to them. Steve
