Ed Kennell 38,021 #1 Posted October 12, 2019 While taking my morning walk, I heard a racket on my neighbors stone road. Looked to the farm and watched 28 horse and buggies enter the farm. Sorry, no camera and when I got back to the house, the horses were all unhitched and in the barn. Later in the day. About 4PM, they started to leave. The Amish normally congregate on Sundays. I'm not sure if this was a special religious event or a house warming for the young family and their new farm. Quite an interesting event to witness.
SPINJIM 1,981 #2 Posted October 12, 2019 I think they occasionally gather for something like a business meeting to discuss crops, harvests, fertilizing, and plans and expenditures for next season. I've noticed that those meetings are mostly attended by the elders, with very few young people (unlike the religious meetings). Jim

The Tuul Crib 7,336 #4 Posted October 13, 2019 These folks are simple and hard working people.we had an amish community 30 miles from where l grew up. We would go there once a month to the animal auctions. Sometimes you have to envy those people as they don't have to be all tied up in what we have to deal with in every day life
