Mower Support

79003225_mowerdecksupport.jpg.4b2f3ff0fda8845914d0ef4cb06cd67f.jpgI have an old Raider 14 deck and have a couple of questions about the mower support assembly (WH part 6694).  I've seen pictures online showing the mower support resting on top of the pin or bar that attaches to wheel support located at the rear of the deck.  In other pictures, I see the tail end of the mower support located beneath the bar (see attached picture). Does anyone know the correct way this part is supposed to be located?

Also, the front attachment bar that is part of the same mower support assembly and the two side brackets that the attachment bar fits into are quite worn from years of use, and will not keep the deck aligned while mowing.  Is there a fix for that other then replacing the parts?  I was wondering if a welding shop could possibly add material by welding both ends or possibly increase the diameter of the holes in the side brackets to make tighter fit for the attachment bar..

Thanks much,

Jim

The rod should be below the curved support channel beam.  It is incorrect in the picture.

The front support rod and/or the attach-a-matic plates could be restored by welding.

I have seen many of these deck supports improved by simply welding plates to the end of the rod to keep it centered in the attach-a-matic plates.

It appears one has been added to one end of the rod in your deck piture.

Thank you Ed. Much appreciated..The Pic of the deck is not mine. It's one I found online to show placement of support assembly.
