Finally some great weather for the show.

The steamers were playing some whistle music, rolling coal, and turning some dirt.

 

Allis Chalmers was the featured equipment.   (Wheel Horse will be featured in the May 1-3, 2020 spring fling show)

 

We still had plenty of green and red tractors.

The horses look great.

 

The Farmall/JD is some creation. Could be some arguments as which way to go there.

 

I'd be a bit leery of trying out the Felton Flyer I think.

I took special interest in this one, since I live right on the edge of Spring City.  I believe this one came from Jones Motor, a local trucking company that's been in business in one form or another since 1894, I think this is probably one of their very first motor trucks.

   My Dad had a small trucking business when I was a youngster.    He had 4 cab over GMCs pulling car carriers for Dallas & Mavis in Fort Wayne Indiana in the '50s.   As a 13 yo, I regularly drove them the 10 mile to a Gulf station where I worked.  I pumped a lot of grease onto those 5th wheel plates.

Many years ago I restored a 1919 American LaFrance fire engine which had chain drive and mechanical brakes. When driving it over a high-rise bridge I just stayed in first gear all the way!
