Need more info. tire size, rpm you will be running and in what gear. On my grandson's puller we have a 18hp V twin B@S running in

2nd gear hi side with a 5091 peerless, tire size is 23X10:50X12, RPM is 3200 and it's speed is 3.4 MPH. That is with a 4" 5/8 pulley.

That MPH is the limit for his weight class and is very strict of DQ'ed.

Tire size is 23x10.50x2 have to check on the rpms tho. Right now it has a 8hp brigs with a 2.5 inch pulley and I’m pulling 2nd low. I’ll have to look in to a mph rule to make sure too. THANKS!

I am still very new to pulling. I have been gathering information over the past few years from this group and my pulling club. Us Wheel Horse guys run an unpopular tractor. Most guys are running the Cub Cadet but I like to be different.
We run a 4” on the engine at 3600rpm 2 gear high. We are limited in this class to 2.5 mph so we play with the throttle during the pull to watch our speed.
is this stone boat or transfer sled?

when I got my 854 wheelhorse it was setup as a puller or something, it had  like a 4" pulley on the engine and a 1" on the transaxle.  was told it did wheel stands and had a set of bars on it.  I put the the tractor back to stock and put a mower deck on it and used it.

Any idea roughly how fast that is? Not like screaming. Must be eight or nine?

Here’s my progress so far. Have the tank mounted fuel line ran, belt on and just about to run wires from the battery back to the motor. Hoping to fire it up this weekend!

If you are pulling with it most clubs will want the battery mounted in a box. You could use a tank under the fender and put battery under hood is an idea.

There’s nothing in our clubs rules but I thought about other places so I’m placing on making a cover to go over it for that purpose and look cleaner too.

So I looked into this for my local club. It says pulley size changes are allowed. And they definitely do not have a mph limit.

baxleyminipullers.net

Sooo. If you didn't have a rule. And you were pulling a 850# tractor. What mph would you?

12.5 Briggs stock. Vertical shaft, true gear box, not variable pulley or hydro. Stock baby tires 18 or so. More tech specs will not do you guys much good. It's not a WH. I don't even know what brand. I'd guess a Rally.
