Those broken screws are best removed going forward as the screws are split then spread to keep them from coming loose.

 

Instead of replacing the screws with new ones  use a thread locker on the old screws to secure them in place.

Yeah I need a plate but dont know what's fits it. This one is missing. I wonder if a plate from a china carb will fit?

your messages are at the top left on any page...looks like an envelope and you should have a 1 just above it if you have a message in que.

I found some pages from a service manual that basically say the your K301 came with the Carter "N" carb.  If not original, it may be a Kohler side draft carb.  It kind of looks like a carter "N" and it has the open, slot ends where it bolts to the block.  It was used on K-361 engines.

   If you have a good library near you, you might go in there and check out their sections on small engine manuals & Chiltons.  It's the older stuff you can't find on the net.    That is the best advise there is.

Maybe this will help.  The throat on my Carter "N" where the throttle plate goes...measures .827"  and the number on the plate is 2-127 as seen in my 1st picture at the top of this page.

No I dont see any envelope anywhere..

Are you using a phone or something???  Might try the 3 bars or the plus phones an tablets hide stuff.  i(I do not use those things).   if you use a computer you should see something like this.
