scwheelhorse 56 #1 Posted October 1, 2019 Can someone please provide me with deck bearing numbers for my 42 in deck on my c120?
peter lena 8,583 #2 Posted October 1, 2019 probably 6203 rs , with 3/4" id measurement , i used timken oil seals # 473380 on the upper seal end, also used lucas red and tacky grease to lube those spindles , high 550 temp drop point ensures ,positive lubrication, don,t forget to change the idler bearing , usually a noisy bearing . you can cross chart what i used if you want to w/h parts , or go on amazon or ebay . any other questions just ask , the site, pete
scwheelhorse 56 #3 Posted October 1, 2019 I read somewhere bearings depend on spindles used. I can post a spindle pic if that helps.
daveoman1966 3,745 #4 Posted October 2, 2019 If your spindle PULLEY uses a Woodruff key, the bearing would be with 3/4" center bore. 106085 (double seal) or 106084 (one seal) (6203) If no keyway is used, the spindle shaft is then 5/8" dia...and the bearing ID would also be 5/8". scwheelhorse 56 #6 Posted October 2, 2019 Why is there grease fittings on the mower deck when it uses sealed bearings? Serves no useful purpose.
peter lena 8,583 #7 Posted October 3, 2019 on the lower side of the bearings ( inside spindle ) you remove the seal so you can refresh the grease in the spindle chamber . i also put in grease between upper and lower bearings , so its off to a good start , ensuring reserve grease to work properly. if you don,t remove the lower inside seal , it will never get a fresh grease refill, pete
Lee1977 6,647 #8 Posted October 3, 2019 The C-120 came with Double D spindles . They could have been upgraded to the later model spindles. I have never replaced any DD spindles bearings. The other two are 3/4" keyed spindles they use 6203-12 RR bearings ( 40 mm OD 3/4" ID and 12 mm thick. The metric spindles use 6203 (40 mm OD 17 mm ID and 12mm thick. The metric spindle will have a 5/8" nut on top.
