Then it dawned on me grab some two by material and here's what I came up with! A 12 footer! It was on my bench in less than 30 seconds. PeacemakerJack 10,738 #13 Posted September 30, 2019 When I was building my shed back in 2015, my uncle suggested that I use a steel I-beam for a support rather than the typical LVL that I would’ve normally installed. He told me that if I ever decided to, I could put a “trolley” on the beam and it would be great for lifting and moving heavy stuff across the shop. It works great! I currently use a 2.5 ton come a-long on it but eventually I want to put an electric winch on it... @The Tool Crib great job at thinking outside the box to get the job done. I’d like to see this thread turn into the standard for thoughts like this. Here in the Midwest we use the term “farmer logic” it can also be called “common sense” or “horse sense” but it is a way of accomplishing tasks that initially seem impossible by a tenacity to get them done and coming up with an unusual but practical way to make that happen.
