DavidP 9 #1 Posted September 29, 2019 (edited) I'm planning to add a weight bracket setup on the rear 3 point hitch for suitcase weights. Need to know how much weight the the 3 point hitch can lift and what the max weight is safe to use back there. Have my eye on a set of 6 older JD suitcase 44lb weights. Not sure if it can handle the weight of all 6. Should I get all 6 or just 4 of them? My D200 has an Ark loader on it and I plan to use a snow blower attachment on the front this year. RL Whiting 0 #3 Posted September 30, 2019 The listed weight for a 50" tiller is 254 pounds. Based on this, your 6 44 pound weights should not be an overload. You have to remember that 3 point hitch loads are not just the weight but also the force of engaging the ground is added to the amount of weight the arms have to hold up. I have a Troy Bilt GTX which is slightly smaller than a D series with a loader on it and I use 350lbs approximately on my Cat 0 3pt hitch and picks it up no problem. Somewhere I read that Cat 0 generally maxes around 400-500lbs. Carry the weights as low as possible to give you the most leverage and stability due to a lower center of gravity and a longer tractor length. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
