mark in ny 27 #1 Posted September 29, 2019 So i picked up a tall chute for my 312 that came with a electro 12 that actually runs great and drives. Being as i picked it up for a 1986 the model blower is 93 to 2000 and its mounted to a 1968 to 70 im wondering if they interchanged or if something was modified to fit the charger/electro. Best part is it was $300. Only part that is missing is the chute control probably gonna make my own as use is around 80 bucks for a metal rod. Anyone got suggestions for what to make it out of maybe threaded rod.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #2 Posted September 29, 2019 The front quick hitch was not standard equipment until 1973 but could be retrofitted to the older tractors. If the rear bar on the snowthrower frame is a 3/8" bolt with bushings that fit into the tractor frame it is old school. If the rear bar is 5/8" diameter it is for the quick hitch and the snowthrower frame is a bit shorter. Garry
Ed Kennell 38,025 #3 Posted September 29, 2019 The blowers could be ordered with several different mounting kits. If yours was on an Electro, it probably has the "old school" frame mounting kit like Garry describes above. This should bolt to the existing frame holes on your 312. I used 1/4" pipe to make a crank rod for my tall chute.
