211-3 - 42" Deck too tall issues

Recommended Posts

TC10284

Totally new to the 200 series WH models.

I have 211-3 with a 42" SD deck that I picked up. The deck came with it, on the tractor. But it was very difficult to move...

The trouble I'm having is that it is like it's too tall to fit on this unit. (See pics). I can't raise/lower the deck. When I use the raise/lower lever, it never goes down because it's too tall to be lowered. Raising it doesn't raise it an inch.

I'm beginning to wonder if this deck is supposed to even go on this tractor and instead, go on a Work Horse LT model. Or maybe someone made a bracket for it that didn't come with it and it's too tall?

I'm assuming so, since Tractor Data does not list a 42" deck for a 211-3: http://www.tractordata.com/lawn-tractors/000/4/9/499-wheel-horse-211-3-attachments.html

Am I doing something wrong here?

I don't think your doing anything wrong. The little experience I have with those 211's, they have a much thinner deck and attach to the front axle rather then the pivot point. I am thinking someone cobbled up a B112 deck and switched it to the machine you have. That deck in your pics has the B112 style attachment point in the front.

I attached a couple pics of my brothers 200 series machines. look at the front attachment point.

Maybe someone here else can shed some more light on this one.

There are two 42" side discharge decks listed for the 211-3. Click on the pictures

May be some suggestions in this service bulletin

Wow......there you go, the early models did use that style of attachment and will fit. sure looks like they are tight looking at the pics on your Google.

Good info Garry!

Interesting GWest...

I guess I'll take this one off and set it aside or maybe try it on another one maybe to see if it fits.

I have the same Mowersetup on my 212-5 as in the Picts from your Brothers Machine.

I just see once a 200-Series with an bit wider Mowerdeck included with a mounting plate

on rear included a Leaf or grass Collector offered for 200-Series,

but that looked different to the one is shown from @TC10284

But it seems to me, that mulch mowerdeck was the „Standart Setup“ for 211 and 212 Series, how they being sold.

This mowerdeck i found few times on my research.
