Mick I had never even thought about putting it to the side. BOTH of those locations are a good idea if you know your pattern of we're on the paint. But the head is tapped with threads for a silencer pipe rather than a flange and gasket as is fitted now. I'd like to have a better silencer made and mount it below the chassis perhaps. I will look at clearances. Bill the edging strip was from ebay, its half inch wide and says it will take from 1mm to 2mm thick metal. It's quite pliable and grips well. Mickwhitt 4,812 #118 Posted December 15, 2019 Thanks for all the positive comments. I'm really proud i managed to make something of her. With all your help and advice of course. From the basic settings I managed to get her to idle quite smoothly. Warmed up she seems to run fine. I will wait for a decent day and wheel her out into the drive for a test run. Exhaust is pretty loud, i think it's just a cylinder with a very short baffle tube inside. I will make some enquiries about getting a new one made. It may be I have some tuning to.do when I get her outdoors and driving. The idle speed is controlled by the stop screw on the throttle lever I believe? Stormin 9,981 #121 Posted December 16, 2019 The screw on the side adjusts the idle mixture. The one on the top does the running mixture. Set the idle mixture first. Set running mixture with the throttle wide open. There's instructions in the manuals. I can get a nice idle on both the Black Horse and the C-81. The C-125 is not quite as good. Turn the screw in till it starts to sputter then back out to where she sputters and then somewhere in-between. Like Norm said idle screw first.
