UPDATE on the older tractor with the Briggs motor

Recommended Posts

well guys i need some help here ;it is always something ;but anyways i was mowing yesterday with the older wheel horse ;it cut perfect but i stopped for a few to get a cold one then i noticed the blades were not turning ;it has the model RM-367

mower deck on it but anyways after trying to figure what happened i noticed a piece that came off and i really don't know where it goes or what it would be called ;all i know is that trying to engage the pedal to start the blades to turn they won't so any advise sure would be appreciated ;here is the part ;thanks

i walked the yard but trying to find  the part that came off  is like looking for a needle in a hay stack

The link you are holding should should apply tension to the mower drive belt idler pulley. Are you missing the idler pulley?

Sure looks like the idler/tensioning  pulley is missing and the front link is missing or disconnected from the rear link.

That mechanism consisting of the latch and link is part of the tractor - not the mower deck. What model of tractor is this?

Don’t know how big your yard is but if you have a roofing nail roller magnet I would go to where the grass stopped getting cut and walk with the magnet behind for a couple rows...Take a cold one and walk around listening for that click of magnet meets pulley...

Besides you do not want to find that pulley with your blade on the next mow...

thanks for the reply and you might be right as yesterday i had to remove a idle pulley to install a pulley that operates the parking brake but i am sure i tighten them all back up but i could be wrong ;so back to searching the yard again always something

thanks for the reply and i understand it isn't part of the mower i just added the picture thinking some what might know about that part hanging down ;the thing is there is no numbers on the tractor it seems someone removed the tag ;so really i am not sure what model it is but heck for 75 dollars i couldn't go wrong ;heck i have it for about a year now and this is the first time i tried it out ;again thanks

Have you checked on top of the mower deck to verify it didn't get caught on top somewhere?
