rustyedge1 169 #1 Posted September 7, 2019 (edited) Picked this blade up at auction this past week sight un seen and when I went to pick it up this is what I had. Looks like factory welds but just light weight for Wheel Horse. Did the company ever use this size and type blades on smaller tractors like Lawn Ranger etc ?? I don't recall seeing a decal ever in this position either. Any info appreciated. Edited September 7, 2019 by rustyedge1

rayshorses 102 #5 Posted September 8, 2019 that blade mount looks like the one used on my mid mount grader blade , I wonder if they are interchangable.
rustyedge1 169 #6 Posted September 10, 2019 I can't remember what the mid mount grader blade that I had several years ago looked like, seems it was similar..

No, they are not interchangeable. when you look at them separately they look similar. Here they are side by side and you can see they are quite different. I'm sure they used the same press to make that main part... but otherwise totally different.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,045 #8 Posted September 10, 2019 I don't know if the BDR-385 was 38" wide as the model number suggests or not. The replacement blade for the BDR-385 in 1968 is listed as 39" model 6-3111 The blade for the verticle shaft Lawn Rangers is also 39" model 6-3151 The 38" and 39" have different part numbers. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,045 #9 Posted September 10, 2019 Just noticed both blade manuals for BDR-385 and 6-3111 show a Lawn Ranger with the optional headlamps. Never seen that on others or did I just not notice? Garry

Garry With a 3 amp charging system you would not want to run them very long....The original manual for my L107 shows Headlight set HL-5 as an option for L-157 only. pfrederi 17,739 #11 Posted September 10, 2019 The two different lengths got me interested. Wen and measured my BDR-385...It is 39 inches long. I have a spare wear edge it is also 39" long. The wera edge part numbers are the same for the BDR 385 and the 6-3151. The mounting units are completely different. The BDR-385 parts list doesn't mention length at all. However my L-107 manual does call the BDR-385 a 38" blade.
