wind77west 13 #1 Posted September 4, 2019 I am looking for an engine drive pulley for a GT14 tractor. I am in the process of trying to remove electrical clutch & pulley, the next problem will be removing the drive pulley itself. The drive pulley split in half, have never seen that before. pfrederi 17,881 #2 Posted September 4, 2019 Be careful pulling the electric PTO you DO NOT use a puller. After you remove the 7/16" bolt ans washer you will see lager threads inside the pulley. Maybe 5/8NC You thread a 5/8 NC bolt in and tighten it it will push the PTO off the crank. Some older PTO needed a 7/8 or 1" NC bolt to push them off.
953 nut 55,786 #3 Posted September 5, 2019 My 1970 GT-14 clutch required a one inch bolt for removal. If you are in need of an engine pulley I know that @A-Z Tractor is parting out a GT-14 now. https://a-ztractor.com/
wind77west 13 #4 Posted September 5, 2019 Pfrederi Thanks for the information on the threads, I read another conversation about them. Problem my tractor has NONE I am going to check if the metal sleeve is harden, if not I will try to tap it. If hard i will have to us a pulley puller unless anyone else have any ideas? What do I have to look out for if I use a puller? 953nut Thanks for your input, I will try A-Z tractor Next stop after I hit reply.

If you put a puller on it you will need to buy another one, they WILL break. The threads on mine did not go all the way to the outside end. once the bolt bottoms out on the end of the crank shaft the clutch will push right off. wind77west 13 #6 Posted September 5, 2019 953nut Thanks for the information on A-Z, I sent them a note to see if they have a pulley. Not sure what to do about the clutch pulley, there are no threads that I can see, There might be a sleeve covering them, I will have to check further.
pfrederi 17,881 #7 Posted September 5, 2019 Could you post a picture of the opening in your PTO???
wind77west 13 #8 Posted September 5, 2019 I have attached a picture, as noted the hole is about .648 in dia. and approx .50 deep. Don't know if it could be a threaded sleeve, it is mild steel a file can cut it. Trying to decide what to do next. try to tape it, try an easyout or what. Have you seen this before? pfrederi 17,881 #9 Posted September 5, 2019 (edited) The threads are back there I can see them Get a 5/8" NC bolt 4 inches long should work. it will thread in and pull the PTO off. Under the yellow line. Way back in there Edited September 6, 2019 by pfrederi 1

wind77west 13 #11 Posted September 7, 2019 pfrederi Could not wait, tried the bolt although I could not see the threads the bolt found them right away and made the job easy. I now have the both the pto pulley and the drive pulley off. Now I am off searching for a new drive pulley. Thanks again for your help it saved me both time and money. 1
