I'd put some in but I've no way to drill into them at the odd angle. Could you center drill your spindles? Then cross drill one side?

ebinmaine 67,455 #831 Posted December 28, 2020 From seat to tire on the left hand side there's about 4" and on the right hand side there's about 5. The seat is around 20 or 21 inches across so if I put up side and back supports just to keep my body in place this will work out fantastic. 4

ebinmaine 67,455 #833 Posted December 28, 2020 Makes me think of the 1963 Pontiac Catalina Swiss Cheese drag race cars. I had the pleasure of seeing one about 25 years ago in a museum. VERY interesting. https://www.macsmotorcitygarage.com/secrets-of-the-1963-swiss-cheese-pontiacs/
ebinmaine 67,455 #834 Posted December 28, 2020 The holes in my frame I can identify to some extent but there's certainly a few put there by POs. See the washer? Nearest set to that is where the steering gear sets. It was moved toward the driver 1.5". That's GREAT because as mentioned earlier in the thread it gives more clearance for the engine and in particular, the oil filter. 2 more are for the battery hold down. 4 are for the original engine mount. The rest? Are for the Swiss Cheese lightening system. 2

ebinmaine 67,455 #847 Posted January 3, 2021 Took a few minutes to work on the Big boy tractor this afternoon. A few weeks ago I stumbled on a cast iron antique/vintage tractor seat. Stoddard M85. It's not perfect but I fairly close to stole it. It has a broken piece you can see that doesn't seem to bother me. It adds a BUNCH of "Old Tractor" character to the build. It also offers a very slightly higher and better supported seat for me keeping me even further away from the tires. We also put in the horizontal shaft of the steering mechanism. Shows bright red and in great contrast to the brown frame. 3

Pullstart 62,840 #850 Posted January 5, 2021 Definitely an awesome seat! I’ve been secretly wishing for one now for a couple years. Ollie who we got the Senior from, had one... but everything was for a price. That tractor wiped out my price funds.
