The "Colossus" project

I'll just make one suggestion build a new longer frame out of 2"x3"x3/8" angle.  Make it the same width as the original.  You will also need to add 3" or 4" to the rear if you are using the large diameter rear tires.

The new frame will give the chance to level the tractor by extending down the front axle mount.

I'd thought about doing that but I don't have the technology or skills yet.

The rear will most likely be moved back by a spacer between frame and transmission.

I saved your notes about making a reinforcement for that area.

The front... I'm not sure yet but I'm leaning towards remaking the axle that was on there from narrow to extra wide.

If I do that I'll put a downstep in.

This axle already has extra long spindles to compensate for the tiny wheels that were on it.

Now to begin disassembly on this unit.

Maybe it would limit your working space but I'm likin that square hood better than the C hood.

Trina and I have talked about it during planning stages.

She's one of you "Square Hood People" :P too so you can imagine where her preference lies.

The mongrelized 1267 I tried to get driving last fall is going to donate it's transmission and maybe front wheels or more.

I thought (alot) about using the hood from that.

I'm intending to use much of the sheet metal from the 1977 C-160 that was the chassis donor for Cinnamon Horse.

That's a real good looking roller you got. But I wanna know is how you narrowed  that front axle. Or was it that way when you got it?

Eric, you could always customize your square hood like this cool 606 hood I picked up today!  There were awesome P.O. touches all over this beast!  :ROTF:

Wow that is so inspirational! But we need to hear it running!  Kind of makes methink of the old saying says what came first the chicken or the egg? In this case the hit and miss came first before the Wheelhorse!!

 But that's OK !

You do need a square hood. Much more width to cover that monster!

Make sure you got your safeties wire up on that beast! 👍👍👍

@Tractorhead

I'd had that thought as well and may go that route still.

I want it to look like a huge Wheelhorse but also think it would be cool to see that big ole engine.

Hhhmmmmmm........
