The tribute tractor is one we're going to put together specifically for the Owl's Head museum show.

 

It'll be an 856 chassis with a 1976 milspec Chrysler single cylin

 

Here's a pic from last fall of the "Horse stable".

Near to far is Trina's Pony, 657. Trina's 867 which is her primary worker. My Cinnamon Horse C-160, my Patriot Horse B80.

 

 

 

We also have the Charger hydro project and a 1949 Ferguson TE20 with FEL (in the spring.)

 

So if all goes right ... We'll have 7 GTs and a farm tractor...

These past couple of weekends we've been working on our forest clearing project and between that and winter I haven't had a lot of time to work on this tractor.

We spent some time yesterday evening working on the transmission. Cleaning it up a little more. I need to finish checking over the bearings and inspect the high low shift fork. At that point I'll be ready to assemble it.

I finished cleaning the axles I got from @19richie66 and built the differential.

 

These axles add about 6" to the total width of the rear.

They are in the 8 inch section width class.

Outside diameter after installation should end up at about 30 inches.

I'm using steel wheels from a camper. 20 lbs each.

Tires and tubes combined should be around the same but I'm kind of guessing.

Rimguard fluid weight should be about 7 gal. So somewhere in the neighborhood of 75 lb each.

 

20 + 20 + 75 = 115 lb per side, not counting any steel bolt on weights.

I did the bolting and a little cleaning. She did more cleaning.

 

She did mention to me while we were fiddling around with this the other day that it's a good thing we got back to it because you and Norman were probably getting impatient.

To be honest I would have to take a look and see what I have. I have a woodruff key set but I don't know what sizes are in it.

You need a set of axle keys for a gt14 or D series tractor.

By nominal size they are defined as 1/4 x 2-3/4"  Actual is 1/4 by 2" tip to tip.  Woodruf key nominal measurement reflect the diameter of the keyway slot hole if it was a complete circle

i doubt your set will have them they are very uncommon.. even McMaster doesn't have them.  If you need them PM me your address i will send you a pair.

Made up the braces for the rear of the frame where it bolts to the adapter.

 

Still some holes to drill then bolt em in place.
