Stormin 9,981 #226 Posted November 27, 2019 I would think, if properly sealed where they fit and the gauge glass it's self, then I don't forsee a problem.

Lee1977 6,663 #230 Posted November 27, 2019 Here is an ideal, don't know if it will work for you. First If you don't need the rectifier located below the dash. I mount a gauge in a 2" abs pipe below the dash.

That would leave that space on the tractor free as well. Absolutely something I'll keep in mind.

Pullstart 62,905 #233 Posted November 28, 2019 EB the brake and clutch rods are just 3/8” stock. You could easily get a 3/8-16 die and thread a cut end for a threaded rod coupling. Use of two rods cut in different spots may be just the ticket! 1

The runners up are electrical tubing . The muzzel brake is a 2 1/2" washer with a 1" hole and two 2" washers with a 3/4" hole space apart with drilled out 1/4" nuts. It stopped the high pearsing sound. It's not quite or too loud. It's on a 18HP Briggs Vanguard. I forgot the pictures, got busy with something else. ebinmaine 67,555 #241 Posted December 8, 2019 Well folks, I was finally able to get the paint department freed up for a few minutes to begin some cleaning up and throwing a little paint at this project. Trina was grinding off the surfaces of a couple of plow blades which I'll post in another section.... so while she had all the stuff out and gear on, she did some wire brushing on the frame that we're going to use. Before: After today's work: Still a ways to go but we ran out of time and daylight. A few days ago I picked up several different colors that I wanted her to trial spray to see how I liked them for different parts of the tractor. I was originally going to go with a hammered bronze for the frame, adapter, transmission... But as it turns out that color is much more plain steel colored than I was looking for. I'll very likely use that for other parts of the tractor but not the whole lower carriage. While I was at the store I also picked up a hammered brown color and a metallic brown color which has a very interesting sand texture after being sprayed. The hammered brown and metallic brown are pictured below, painted on the trans to frame adapter. Hammered: Metallic Brown: Look at the sparkles from the metal flake in this stuff. Imagine the whole front suspension, frame, adapter, transmission... All covered in this color.

I did think seriously about it on this build but I just don't need anything other than the stock set-up.

I'd still use it if it were the same. 25 minutes ago, jabelman said: I gave up wire wheeling parts, get a plastic tote, and 10 gallons of cheap white vinegar, soak it for a week I'll run it by the paint department. We've talked about making up an electrolysis tub too. She really likes the hands on physical activity of building these rigs. 2

And do the electrolisis setups work, Ive made a small temporary one in the past to remove a yoke in a ford aerostar transfer case, I tried everything and nope it was stuck solid, so i did the electrolisis thingy with baking soda, my word it came out black but i tapped it and whoosh out came the yoke, saved my but. id love to have a big tub setup for sure.
Lee1977 6,663 #250 Posted December 19, 2019 Eric what have you been doing on this project? We want to see some progress. You have been at this for 3 1/2 months all we've seen is the frame and the extension block.and I think a couple of tires. Not even sure you ordered the tires it's been so long. Richie started a new project a week ago and already has a rolling chases. Ready to mount the engine. 1 1
