I did the thrust bearings on the front of my GT-14 too, what a big improvement!
ebinmaine 67,455 #1127 Posted April 4, 2021 I figured with the extra weight it would be toting around the thrust bearings couldn't hurt. I had our friend account for the little extra space when she built the spindles. Glad I did.
ebinmaine 67,455 #1128 Posted April 5, 2021 Well the Paint Department got the spindles and hubs all done up for the front. They're all greased and installed. Would've had the front wheels on too but the bearing cap on the right side fought the snot out of us. Eventually we prevailed. Much battle was foughted. Messed up the paint just a tad so she resprayed the copper. Likely be able to put the front wheels on tommorow and have a rolling chassis. 2

We should be seeing some front wheels and an engine soon?? Yeah buddy. Front wheels are ready to be bolted on as soon as I get time. Engine sheet metal is all painted. Next steps on that: Make up a schematic for my own knowledge. Pop the carburetor off because I need to clean it again anyways. Then spend a bunch of time needle scaling the block. 3

ebinmaine 67,455 #1142 Posted April 6, 2021 It's a roller!! The pic makes the front look a lot wider than the rear. Looks that way standing in front of it too. Actually not so. The top of the rear tires measure 41-1/2" across. The front wheels are canted in at the bottom. Front tires measure 41-3/4" top, 39-1/2" across the bottom. Perfect. 2 7 1

PeacemakerJack 10,738 #1148 Posted April 6, 2021 Looking Good Eric—that is exciting stuff to see this beastly tractor make it to this phase. In the words of Henry Jones Sr (Indiana Jones films) “what are you sitting there resting for when we are so near to the end?” 😁😅😂🤣 1
