Disassembly. Repaint. Bolt the engine down. No wiring. No cables. And Trina is doing most of the work. All I'm going to do on that one is split the transmission and reassemble and give her a hand lining up the engine. She may very well get started on that this weekend in fact.
Pullstart 62,912 #1108 Posted April 1, 2021 Have you figured out any body stretch mods needed or steering shaft and pedal rod changes related to the stretch?

On the steering if I have to extend the vertical shaft any I'll use a solid coupler. I can't remember if that's quite long enough or not. For the clutch I need to check alignment off of the implement lift handle that I'll be using as the clutch lever. If It moves okay I'll run a rod directly from the appropriate place. If it doesn't have quite the right angle I'll run a rod from the lift lever down to a chopped off clutch pedal which will then have its own rod as in stock form. For the brake rod I'll have to lengthen it something in the area of 2 or 3". Not sure what I'll do there yet. I thought about using an extended coupling nut. I could cut the existing rod wherever it's the most convenient. Thread those ends and go from there. The hood is going to be a particular type of challenge. I don't know anyone or have access to any sort of sheet metal bending skills that can do compound work. Our friend that does metal Fab can only do any given bend in 1 direction. The hood will need to be expanded in every possible direction....

Lever steers and Seniors were built without hoods at first... do you really NEED a hood?
953 nut 55,321 #1111 Posted April 1, 2021 You could just have a grill and hood stand like this one @stevasaurus was joyriding on. 3

Another thing I've considered seriously is to get everything built done and finished and do the hood last. Mark and cut so it follows the front of the engine / air cleaner or whatever. Then snap the latch in place at the hood stand and do the same thing at the back of the engine. To connect the two halves of the hood I could run some strap steel or something... 2 minutes ago, squonk said: Hey, "Someone" has to run the camera! ebinmaine 67,623 #1123 Posted April 4, 2021 Trina did some more painting and I got the front axle in place. I put roller bearings in with the spindles. I can already feel that those will make for a nice steering rig. 4
