8ntruck 7,012 #981 Posted February 23, 2021 Watch how you route that tubing. Padded clamps and grommets when going through bulkheads. It makes a mess when vibration wears through the line. Ask me how I know..... 3

Solid clamps with rubber insulators. Off engine to follow frame back to column support. Then vertically to the gauge. I was thinking of a tie down every foot or less.

Now keeping in mind that's an 1/8" diameter copper pipe I'm not sure I need straps with a Working Load Limit of 5000 lb. Good thought though. Good try. 1

I have to wrap around the engine some to get down towards the frame which will use up some of that 6 ft but I'll still have 1.5 to 2 ft coiled up somewhere.

Just a thought though. Rather than trying to have nearly 2ft of pipe coiled somewhere, how about cutting of the excess and re-swaging? You could maybe get a local garage to do that with a brake pipe swaging tool. 1

No worries there. I've got one as well. I don't think I'll need to worry about it though. I'll bet by the time I put two or three coils at each end and route it carefully I may not have anywhere near as much left over as I think.
Oldskool 6,644 #998 Posted February 23, 2021 I just went back and noticed that those look soldered on? Couldnt you just cut to length and use a standard ferrule?

ebinmaine 67,549 #1000 Posted March 7, 2021 PICTURE HEAVY Last weekend we took all the shrouds and tins off the exterior of the K582. Today's project was too repair our rolling work table. My maternal grandfather had it in workshop/barn since back when sand was boulders. Needed to tighten things up and replace a couple boards. We then got the big twin up on the table. I drained the oil and removed the oil filter. @pullstart here's some pics of the top of the engine. Please lemme know what else you need/want. Engine exterior outside pics pictures. 6 4
