RandyLittrell 3,877 #627 Posted May 17, 2020 Any idea how much weight a roller bearing will take? I know you will be beating on yours in the woods and I wonder if they would hold up to a loader? I didn't see any specs like that on the listing. Thanks, Randy

Check on McMaster Carr. Even though it's not their listing it would give you an idea. Mine is really not going to be that heavy. Maybe an additional 100-120 lbs on the front axle. RandyLittrell 3,877 #629 Posted May 17, 2020 (edited) I think I am gonna try it regardless. If they can't handle the weight, I can always put a bronze spacer in it and grease it well. I went on Timpkens site and they said they are designed for heavy loads with moderate speed. They didn't say what those numbers where, but for less than $20 and some labor, I think it will be worth trying! Tractorhead 9,064 #630 Posted May 17, 2020 https://www.skf.com/de/products/rolling-bearings/roller-bearings/cylindrical-roller-thrust-bearings Just to give you an idea, what bearings can carry static and dynamically. maybe you must switch the Language. 1

A little grinding off the top and pop them in the bottom.... Easy fix. 1

ebinmaine 67,462 #635 Posted June 2, 2020 (edited) I did actually get some spacers for the rear wheels in the mail today. I'm waiting 4 a needle scaler to arrive. My plan for cleaning the wheels is to mount them one at a time on the cinnamon horse and let it roll while I use a wire brush or abrasive wheel to remove the paint. The small spots that I can't get, I'll use the needle scaler. At some point I will also use the needle scaler on the engine block. Engine sheet metal will probably be a wire brush job.... Tractorhead 9,064 #636 Posted June 2, 2020 Use a sandblaster gun, simply selfmade and it’s better on cast iron than a nailer. a nailer can crack cast iron.

Maybe I'll do a combo of needle scaler and wire brushing.

8ntruck 6,999 #640 Posted June 3, 2020 Careful using the needle descaler on sheet metal. Get too energetic with it and you will move the sheet metal around. 2
Tractorhead 9,064 #641 Posted June 3, 2020 use instead of sand corn kernels or dryed peas. no sand contamination of the engine even no destroy of existing gaskets, color will be removed and rust but with no deep grinding the metal surface like sand does. 2

ebinmaine 67,462 #643 Posted June 11, 2020 I got the mufflers in the mail today. Basically baby glasspacks. Patriot Exhaust Company H3121. They measure only 1-5/8" OD x 12" long. Six rows of flutes down through and into the "sound absorption material". They'll most likely be used as little stacks but the rest of the stack is yet to be determined..... 5

Cant wait to hear what they sound like I've mentioned that I am usually right around five years old. Trina is about the same. As you can well imagine our level of extreme maturity dictated that we needed to hold a muffler up to our faces and yell in and out of them to see what the sound decrease would be. They definitely produce a deep tone. I'm looking forward to hearing what they sound like on the engine... 1

PeacemakerJack 10,738 #648 Posted June 12, 2020 Nice find on those Eric...I’ll be interested to see how those evolve into the final product. Nothing quite like a muffled “shouting” match 😂😂😂 At Least the neighborhood wasn’t disturbed...😂
RandyLittrell 3,877 #649 Posted June 12, 2020 Looks like to me those are gonna make a nice "scale" sized stack! The oversize stacks kinda bug me even though I run one myself, can't wait to see how those come out!! Randy
