Pullstart 62,904 #1651 Posted February 21, 2022 If you didn’t already, it would be a great idea to check flatness with a straight edge and feeler gauges on that piece of steel EB. It looks stamped/sheared and that often times gives it a slight tuna can effect where it bends it as it cuts.

I did remember to check this one with a good quality old fashioned Starrett Tools ruler. It did have edges that were curled up on two sides of the four. I used the sandpaper to knock a couple of ridges down and put it on the table curled side facing down. That's where the clamps are.
Lee1977 6,663 #1653 Posted February 23, 2022 We need to all start posting what we didn't get finished today. "Here" or what we planed to do to day and didn't get to and general bull ___ topics. It will fit right in with EB's build and help EB with more page numbers.
SylvanLakeWH 25,585 #1654 Posted February 23, 2022 (edited) Now now... Mustn't be hasty... See Post 1480 for historical perspective... Edit: Added text of Post 1480 for those unable to search that far back into the archives of this thread: ———- “Just some perspective to keep @ebinmaine’s honor in tact… According to multiple innerweb resources it took 12 years to complete the Original Colossus of Rhodes… (on the web so it must be true…) Post 1 of this thread was August 31, 2019. So really, when August 31, 2031 rolls around, we should get nervous… I mean, even with BBT, we can’t expect this beast - what will become the 8th Wonder of the world - to take less time than the original can we…? “ ———- Edited February 23, 2022 by SylvanLakeWH 1

ebinmaine 67,541 #1669 Posted February 24, 2022 Got these super snazzy weights from @Mows4three via a buddy of his. The BBT met him in Portsmouth NH this morning to get them and a garden plow. As you can see they measure 14-3/8" OD. Weight is 55 lbs each. They'll be great on the rear wheels. Likely I'll install Cub 25 lb weights on the 12" front to match these. 2

I see it's the pleasure of the building process, look forwards to being creative yet another day.... Edited February 24, 2022 by "Manic-Mechanic" 1

I'd do Apple Red. She may have different alternatives related to the "metal colored" theme. Given that the lug nuts are anodized red, a dark metallic of some sort would be good too.
