Does anyone remember the Coffee Achievers?  This is something unlike that.

Had to search that.  Doesn't seem familiar to me but if coffee's good enough for Ann and Nancy it's good enough for me.

The first date that came to me was 3035, then none of us would be around to see it.  I'm trying to encourage you to get it done.

If it helps I'll be installing the tie rods so I can steer to roll it out to the tractor lineup for our Meet n Greet.

You mean I could have got a ball joint with a stud on the end that bolts to spindle arm, and female threads on the end that goes on the tie rod ?

I’ m gonna need to put a bolt to hold my ends to spindle arms...:ranting:

And to the doo hickey that swings left to right to turn the wheels...:ranting:

I finished up the other tie rod by cutting off the end to the correct length.

Drilled it and tapped it.

I had no 1/2-20 nuts around so I drilled and tapped a couple 7/16 just to keep things tight for the time being.

Installed both the rods after measuring about 86 times.

And the Colossus beast is a rolling chassis.

Tow-in. Front to back will be at least 1/4".

I also added a bunch of tilt to the spindles when I designed them.

The tops of the tires are tilted OUT about 1.25 inches compared to the bottom.

This supposedly gives a better grab to the outside steering tire in turns.

So when I set my spindles in place I need to measure across the front and back of the tire/wheel and if the front is 25”,then the back needs to be 25-1/4” ?

The axle was a home built I lengthened.

It's around zero.

I didn't change that.

Yepp.

See the pic below.

Use 2 flat objects that can be clamped together. I had metal rulers handy..

Hold them halfway up the front of the WHEELS so they just lightly touch each wheel  and clamp them in place.

Now keeping them clamped see what the distance is from one wheel to the other at the same approximate height at the back of the rim.

The difference is your toe-in.
