Homemade Plow angle handles

Recommended Posts

Anyone make up their own plow angle handle? My son is making one based on my factory handle. It works and is bulletproof, but can it be made better?

For the BLACK rubber handle, use the round rubber handle from the implement lift lever.  Just squeeze it a little bit flat and it'll slide onto the flat pre-fab lever handle your son made.

It may get a motorcycle hand grip. 😲

I also needed one made. I have a steel fabricating shop near me, they made an exact duplicate for $25

Yes, the originals are a little flimsy to say the least. I made mine out of heavy plate, and bent it more like the 260 series. Hangs out but goes right around the footplate.

Do you have a picture of it?

If it offers more foot room I'd use one.

So I take it that goes around the outside edge of the forward end of the step plate.

Don't shape you index lever like this one for the 260 tractor.  Make it like the one in the FIRST PICTURE in this string. That 1st pics is whats needed for the B C tractors.

Oh yeah. I know. Thanks Dave. Patriot is a B series and cinnamon is a C Series.

I have two different snow plows here and on both of them that lever it's the step.

1 more so than the other.

It's obvious to me that one of them was badly bent when I got it and I've tried to reconfigure it with limited success.

That's why I was wondering about the 260 series lever. I wondered if I could get the entire lever to the outside edge of the foot step.

I converted that blade over to fit B,C,3 &400 series and I do believe the lever set forward and to the side of the foot rest.    The xi series had a better design in my opinion.

Correct. It's not 'accurate' but I find it more comfortable to use. And on the Electro my C style lever would hit the footplate. Also smack in the way of my foot. With the lever around the outside of the footplate, I have more room and a further reach which works well for me. I'll have to try and find an old photo of the Charger when i used to use it.

I got a blade in the deal with my 312.  But this handle is missing.  Anyone sell these custom ones?

Look in the classifieds and fleabay They run are $50. They really aren’t hard to make. I Imagine someone could draw up a build sheet if there’s not one on here already.

I did some fitting of my stock one today and got all the slop out. it’s about the best way to do it.

I reeeeelly like how that goes to the far outside of the area so it doesn't interfere with the brake pedal.

Extra reach isn't an issue with my ape arms.

I may have to experiment with that.....

The bent out version must use a cable instead of a rod does the routing of the cable through screw eyes around the bends make it harder to squeeze the release handle???

Yes it uses a cable (wire rope) and NO not anymore effort to squeeze the handle...   https://www.toro.com/en/parts/partdetails?id=18799
