oliver2-44 9,695 #1 Posted August 16, 2019 (edited) I have a building addition project coming up. Me, Myself, and I will be doing most of the work on this project except the concrete foundation. I've been looking for a front end loader, but their scarce as hens teeth around here. I'm thinking of building a helper to fit on my C160. something like the front hoist @JAinVA posted this picture of some time back. JAinVA I appreciate if you would post a few more photos of this hoist and possible a few dimensions or size of materials used. If anyone else has a front or rear hoist, I'd appreciate some pictures of them. Edited August 16, 2019 by oliver2-44
JAinVA 4,619 #2 Posted August 16, 2019 Glad to help if I can.I took this tractor to the big show so if anyone was interested they had it to study. The boom is 4' 10" from ground to tip.The reach is 31" from the front of frame. The top portion of the boom is 10" long and the main section it attaches to is 41"It uses a Harbor Freight winch and with 45 lb rear weights will lift 400lbs with me in the seat. The boom is mounted to the outside of the frame and is reduced 1/2" internal spacing at the tip to house the pulley. The material I used is 2 inch channel iron which I salvaged from a previous project. My goal was to keep the boom as light as possible and I can carry it with one hand. This mount will not allow the mounting of a normal hood. 1

Add hydraulics and or 12v power winches and you can have a very versatile crane/hoist. JAinVA 4,619 #5 Posted August 16, 2019 (edited) Though not mounted to a WH one of the guys here put one on the rear of one.The truck crane like wallfish pointed out is mounted to my wood splitter. That Red Oak round is 18" long. Not sure a WH could handle the weight it will lift but it works great. The black box at the right of the mast is the winch controls Edited August 16, 2019 by JAinVA

I've closely examined ALL of them and couldn't find one single tooth. I think you'd better go with one of the above ideas. I'll be following to see what's cookin.....

littleredrider 409 #9 Posted August 17, 2019 If you have skills, welder, and access to materials, you can build a loader. I bought plan from PF engineering, but got lucky and found a loader. Its home made, but is pretty heavy duty. Hardest part is the hydraulics. Knowing pump size, pully's, control valves and cylinder sizing. Could also use the rear for lifting. A slot hitch or sleeve, not sure if theres others, but could modify to make a simple lift....
