Norm, you guys definitely know how to have fun over there.  I'd give anything to drive in one of those events.  You ever drive, or just marshal?

In the rallies I participated in years ago there was a top secret time established to each timing point and the car with the closest total time to it was the winner. It had nothing to do with speed.

today there was some big Porsche rally that went past my house.  some of them were going 15 to 20 mph.  some were moving fast.  figured it had to a timed rally.  must of been about 50 of them going by

One cardinal rule for the organizers who established the time was no speed in excess of the posted limit. You never knew if they would stop for a potty break or lunch while the stop watch was running though!

Never drove in car rallies myself. I used to drive Land Rovers in 4x4 off road competitions.

Those type of rallies are also run over here by some cubs. On public roads. Speed events are run on private or closed roads.
