Spring missing!

Recommended Posts

My 875 is missing the small spring that is attached to the cam/neutral plate.

The part number is 1230 and NLA.

Anyone have one or know the dimensions of the spring?

Thank you!

If no one chimes in here, I can dig out my 876 tomorrow and see if I can figure that out for you.  I do have to dig it out to look.  :occasion-xmas:

I'm missing the same spring for my 'no name' 16 automatic, so I'll be interested in any info.

This is spring # 1230.   Take the measurements to a hardware store and match it.

There is another solution....mount a return spring on the OUTSIDE of the hoodstand...  like this on my C-160 Auto..  Very easy to do, and to change out if / when it breaks.

Great idea Dave... getting that little spring hooked up inside requires a lot of very salty language....

  • Did the same thing on my C-160. No salty words needed! :)

Thanks for all of the measurements and advise.  Now I can go through my misc. spring collection to see what might fit.

Hi all.  I am new to the Wheel Horse world and I have a question about attaching a tiller to my 875 before I start spending money.  Based on what I've read so far, it sounds like I can use the RT-366 tiller without having the 8-3311 PTO assembly, is this correct?  If so, does the RT-366 belt attach to the hydrostatic motor if there is a double pully (#6887) installed?

Picked this up today because I wanted the deck for my 875. The 875 has no deck so I figured this one is better then none at all. Question is what do I do with the rest of it??? 875, was told the engine needs rebuilding. Been sitting in a barn last 20+ years. Steering wheel is broke. Both front tires are shot and coming off the rims. Original paint. Plow needs the arm to turn the blade. Its repaired in a fixed position. Worth more in parts or as whole? Not sure I want a big project. What do you all suggest???

ISO of hydro motion control lever bushings.
      These appear to be parts # 5666 (nylon) need 2, # 5983 (Nyliner) need 2, # MW2195 (bronze) need 1.
      Please PM me here.
      Thanks in advance.

For those of you that have followed the "Iron Horse" restoration thread, you know about the history of this tractor with our family!  Judge had been asking to drive it and so I gave him the opportunity to do so...

I don't think there is an easier tractor to drive and he had a blast. It is hard to believe that it was 33 years ago that I was driving the same machine at his age!

Here I am driving it in the Fourth of July parade 2017
